India: the quiet luxury the Lodhi new Delhi

India: the quiet luxury the & nbsp; Lodhi & nbsp; new & nbsp; Delhi

The Lodhi New Delhi, one of the hotels I’ve stayed in these years, is the one I want to go back to.

At the time of our reservation, the official website of this hotel still showed that it was one of the members of aman Hotel, but at that time aman’s official website had no such room in New Delhi. Upon check-in, there are many similar spaces and details between the hotel and aman. The linen in the guest room looks like the same supplier as amanbagh in northern India. The two hotels even have the same brand and style of mosquito repellent. Kerry Hill, the designer of the Lodhi New Delhi, is also the Royal designer of aman. To learn more, this is the predecessor of aman in New Delhi. It’s not clear why aman and I broke up later. Up to now, the Lodhi’s official website still has customized itineraries associated with two other aman hotels in India. In any case, the origin of aman here is undoubtedly confirmed.

The reason why I want to go back to stay in this hotel is that the stay time is too short. I go late or early. Many spaces and facilities here are not enough to experience. The room space is especially attractive to me.

This night in New Delhi is our last night in India. It was more than 8:00 p.m. that day when I arrived at the hotel, everyone was tired and dusty when I got off. In addition, at the last stop, all kinds of treasures collected by the companions along the way, those that are too big and too heavy to put into the box, are wrapped into various strange shapes and are finally carried in their hands. Someone is holding a large vase of marbles, someone is holding a mosaic plate… For example, I, a bronze herbalist Buddha of nearly 7kg, put it in a strong cloth bag and put it on my shoulder. A group of tired, sporty outdoor costumes and people with shoulders entered such a high-end hotel. Then at the front desk, strangely, there was no order for us. At this point, it’s not aman. Fortunately, the manager on duty responded quickly and led us to the red wine and cigar bar. Please wait here and order drinks at will. I looked at the clothes and shadows on the red bar and the sofa of the calf, and looked at the frost and dust reflected in the glass, so I couldn’t sit still and quietly walked out and looked around the hotel inside and outside.

The interior and exterior lighting of the hotel at night is soft, even a little dim. There are waterside pavilions in the courtyard, like restaurants. In the public space, there is a sound of banquets coming from the distance. It’s not noisy, it’s just the right pleasure. Near the hotel gate, a beautiful woman is getting off and entering the hotel. In northern India, real beauties are mostly seen in hotels, all of them are Sari’s gentle and lovely people. In front of her eyes, she was dressed up in fashionable modern clothes. Her body, face and demeanor were westernized. She was almost a Bollywood star level beauty. This is the other side of India.

When I arrived at the guest room, I wanted to go to the public space of the hotel to have a look around and have a drink after taking a bath and changing clothes. I couldn’t even enjoy the private swimming pool associated with the guest room. The six meter square pool located on the outdoor platform is really not a pool or a bathtub, but in any case, in addition to the single story resort, it is the first time for ordinary rooms to encounter such a private pool.

The Lodhi rooms are very special. Generally speaking, no matter how good a hotel is, most of the standard rooms and suites are limited in area and standardized. The interior design mostly focuses on the color materials and furniture accessories, and rarely talks about space design. Even in resort hotels, most of the rooms with characteristics have good external landscape. And the Lodhi’s guest room is the most admirable space design. Our rooms are 125 square meters. In a multi-storey building with a curvilinear plane, there are only five rooms on the first floor, each with a private swimming pool. Single side public corridor on guest room floor, with rooms concentrated on one side of the corridor. The guest room has a full-length outdoor balcony more than two meters wide near the outer wall. The guest room is also very special. The entrance is a narrow space with the same width as the balcony. The room entrance, bathroom, mini bar, cloakroom, etc. occupy this space. The sliding doors with the same height as the wall are used to separate the parts and between the parts and the guest room. These push-pull fans have different combinations of opening and closing to form a rich indoor space. I’m fascinated by this kind of spatial combination, which is what I always want to do without the opportunity to put into practice. At that time, I wanted to draw the plane of the guest room by hand, but I was tired. I wanted to design it in the name of aman hotel. The drawings should be all over the Internet, so I stopped. Not only did I search for pictures and texts related to the hotel design when I wrote this article today, but also Google failed to find the complete drawings. It’s a pity. It’s another important factor that I want to return.

&Nbsp; the Lodhi is in the style of modernism. The building is regular and square. The surface is covered with beige stone. It is a little flat in the sky. Its details can only be shown in the night scene lighting. Those horizontal and vertical divisions are actually represented by different materials, and the surface treatment of stone materials is also different.

The interior here is the continuation of the exterior, the overall style and lighting are stable, and there are jumping furniture and art works in some parts.

India: the quiet luxury the & nbsp; Lodhi & nbsp; new & nbsp; Delhi when I arrived at the room, I was surprised to find that there is a mini swimming pool on the outdoor balcony, which is only separated from the indoor bathtub by a piece of transparent glass. The couch hanging on the side of the pool bank looks very comfortable. It’s unusual in a hotel room that’s not single story. It’s a pity that I’m exhausted and have no time to enjoy it.

In addition, this group of photos are not well taken. Many spaces and details in public areas are unique and difficult to express.

India: the quiet luxury the & nbsp; Lodhi & nbsp; new & nbsp; Delhi because of the tiredness of the previous night, I got up early the next morning and waited for the appearance of the hotel in the morning light. Before sunrise, the surface of the building is gray and white. A little light makes it different immediately. Delhi’s air is a little chaotic, the light is not clear, but to meet the light of the stone surface presents a soft salmon pink.

In fact, the swimming pool is on the first floor of the ground. The form of sinking makes this long and narrow pool private and not blocked, and it also has the function of landscape pool.

In the corridor of guest room floor, sunlight spreads through the hollowed out stone partition. There are only four rooms in such a long corridor.

The entrance of the guest room is a long and narrow space. One side of the door is equipped with wet space such as bathroom, and the other side is dry space such as dressing room, dressing table and mini bar. In the whole length, there are several sliding door leaves that can be hidden in the wall. When they are all opened, they are a narrow and complete space. Under different use conditions, the door leaves can divide the space into several closed private rooms of different sizes. Together with three door openings and sliding door leaves that open to the bedroom, they can be combined into a variety of spaces and use states, which is very interesting. This is a space combination that fascinates me. I always want to use it in design, but I can’t

India: the quiet luxury the & nbsp; Lodhi & nbsp; new & nbsp; Delhi bedroom and living area are a complete rectangular space. There are three door openings between this space and the entrance space. All of them have sliding door leaves that can be pushed into the wall. When the door leaves are completely closed, two independent spaces will be formed. Different people will not interfere with each other when using them.

A 60236 a 6033 bedroom and outdoor balcony also have corresponding door openings, so this guest room has a rich space and perspective that general guest rooms do not have. When I first checked in, I was very surprised. I used various lines to shuttle between the indoor and outdoor doors.

A 60239 guest room outside the 18 meter long balcony, the end of the private pool is very surprised to me. Independent swimming pool is not difficult for a single exclusive hotel, but it is difficult for a multi-storey hotel room in the city.
