AssistiveWare and N2Y now offer 4 reading levels in News-2-You iPad app

Today AssistiveWare and N2Y announced the release of version 2.0 of the popular symbol-supported newspaper News-2-You app for iPad. The News-2-You newspaper is designed for teaching and expanding literacy skills, from basic awareness of symbols and print to reading fluently with comprehension. To support children of all ages and skill levels, the major update now includes four reading levels each week.

“When we released version 1 last year we were overwhelmed with the positive feedback on the app from teachers and parents alike,” said David Niemeijer, CEO and founder of AssistiveWare. “We are excited that with version 2 we are now able to offer all four reading levels of this amazing educational resource on iPad.”

News-2-You connects student to the world with symbol-supported news and includes articles, puzzles, jokes and recipes. The news can be read using one of the 30 free Text to Speech voices, including specialty and children’s voices. The News-2-You app offers multi-user support. Just as all other settings, one of four reading levels can be selected per student and also reading progress and answers to exercises are tracked individually.

“We had our customer’s needs in mind when we developed the initial News-2-You app,” said John Standal Vice President of Sales and Marketing for n2y. “The goal with this updated release is to take our customers feedback from version 1 and incorporate it into version 2, making the app easier to use and an effective classroom tool.”

News-2-You 2.0 is Free, includes a sample edition to explore all features, and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Education category. Version 2.0 is a free update for existing users. New customers can purchase a News-2-You subscription or single edition from within the News-2-You app or if they already own a web-based News-2-You subscription they can use the app at no costs to access the same content on iPad.
