AroundMe Users Find What They Look For in the Latest Update For iOS 7

The developers of AroundMe, the most widely used location app of its kind, recently released the latest update to its namesake app, making AroundMe a true iOS 7 app. The brand new operating system from Apple has been making headlines since it was made available to the public just over a week ago, with adoption rates skyrocketing to as much as 35% in one day (source: TechCrunch). Amongst many other major changes, iOS 7 sports a brand new, sleek look, which AroundMe has implemented in this new release. AroundMe developers also took full advantage of a new underlying engine, which enabled them to add further enhancements and capabilities.

Early adopters are already raving about the latest update to the popular location app. “When we first reviewed AroundMe, it was a pretty awesome app,” says Rob Rich, 148Apps Network. “Now, over three years later, it’s still an awesome app. Only now it’s dressed up for iOS 7.”

While AroundMe boasts a new look that compliments iOS 7, it “is a solid update that makes the app ready for iOS 7 without losing functionality,” according to Federico Viticci, MacStories. “AroundMe uses playful animations that aren’t too heavy-handed and that, in my opinion, contribute to making the app simpler and yet pleasant to use. […] AroundMe’s new design feels at home on iOS 7, and the custom touches that Pifferi added to the interface (new icons, animations) help differentiating [sic] the app from the stock iOS 7 design that several developers will follow in the upcoming months.

Other user testimonials show even more positive reactions to the new AroundMe update. Brian says, “AroundMe [for iOS] 7.0 really simplifies what was already simple. I love the new style and usability. AroundMe holds a special place in my heart.” Laura elaborates, saying, “the simple and clean iOS 7 look makes the app even faster.” Doug comments that the update makes the app “even more straightforward and ergonomic. Syllable App Update Brings New Features to Popular Speed Reading App

Syllable by Christian Selig, the best speed reading app for iPhone, has been updated to version 2.1, bringing a slew of new features to help users learn to read faster. In addition to the wealth of pre-existing features, such as Pocket, Instapaper and Readability integration as well as an incredibly customizable reading experience, version 2.1 brings support for syncing article completion back to the service to help users chew through their reading queue, a brand new article extracting engine for more accurate and speedy article extraction from links, custom URL support, and many other improvements to the app.

Syllable helps you learn to read much faster, while helping you to finish your Pocket, Instapaper and Readability article queues you’ve been meaning to get through. With the skills you learn from using Syllable, you’ll be able to read articles, novels, textbooks or really any kind of reading much, much faster.

Syllable is built to make it really simple to learn to read faster. The most common reason people read slowly is due to something called subvocalization – when reading you say the words to yourself, which limits how fast you can read to a speed similar to how fast you can talk. Syllable helps to reduce this subvocalization by pacing through the reading at a rate you define, only showing one word at a time, forcing you to not mouth the words to yourself.

The average person reads at a speed of 200 WPM, which is very close to how fast they’re able to talk. With the reading techniques used by Syllable, doubling or tripling (or more) your reading speed to 1000 WPM is possible.

Reviews for Syllable have been overwhelmingly positive, and creator Christian Selig has been amazed at how users have responded to the app, saying “Users love the design and simplicity of Syllable, while also being allowed great customization of the reading experience. I’ve received many emails from people telling me about how much Syllable has improved their reading speed and helped them finally get through their reading queue. I’m loving how much Syllable is helping users, and I’ll be continuing to put out updates that make Syllable better and better for its users, keeping it the best speed reading app on the App Store.”

Features:
* Learn to read much faster by silencing subvocalization
* Highly customizable reading experience
* Pocket, Instapaper and Readability integration
* Automatically extract article from given URLs
* Indicator of how long it will take to read article
* Night mode
* Custom URL support
* See how long it took to read an article
* Share progress with Twitter, Facebook, etc.

Syllable 2.1 is available worldwide in the iTunes App Store for $2.99 USD in the Productivity category.
