New Star Walk 2 for iOS Features Stunning Design: 3D Deep Sky Objects

Vito Technology, the award-winning developer of educational apps for Android and iOS, today launched Star Walk 2, the next generation of company’s best-selling stargazing guide, that has surpassed 10 million downloads to date. New features include all-new interface design, true-to-life 3D visualization of constellations, deep sky objects, and man-made satellites.

Redesigned from the inside out, new Star Walk 2 is a much faster and smoother app, that combined with a cleaner and simpler interface delivers an effortless journey through thousands of stars, comets, and constellations. All-new exclusive handcrafted artwork for constellations, inspired by minimalist low-poly art and stunning new sound effects create an unforgettable stargazing tool.

Important addition to the app was made in cooperation with scientists of Braunschweig University of Technology, who have been working on volumetric visualisation of deep space objects. As a result of this partnership, Star Walk 2 is the first astronomy guide to introduce plausible three-dimensional models of planetary nebulae.

Star groupings of the 88 officially recognised constellations are also presented in volume. Users can see them as separate entities, turn them around and take a look from the other side. Complemented by articles on connected myths and history, this is the most comprehensive collection of information on constellations.

Star Walk 2 is a sequel of the well-known Star Walk app that was released back in 2008 and has acquired more than 10 million users across the world on iPhone, iPad, Android, Kindle, and Windows Phone. It’s been an educational best-seller for over five years and won multiple awards, including Apple Design Award in 2010. Star Walk lets you easily find and identify thousands of stars, satellites, and comets in real time. Using built-in digital compass and motion tracking, this stargazing guide turns your phone into a full-on planetarium.

Real-Time Motion Tracking:
As you hold your phone up and point it towards the sky, Star Walk 2 follows your motions using the built-in gyroscope to match the map on your screen to the stars seen from your location. Easily find any star, constellation, or satellite in the sky by tapping Search. Star Walk will indicate the direction to look in.

New Point Of View:
Unlike on a plain photograph, every star in Star Walk 2 has coordinates. That means you can look at objects, for instance, a constellation from any vantage point in space, not to mention the ultimate accuracy of your map for your exact location.

Now And Later:
Star Walk 2 gives you accurate daily data on current moon phase, time of sunset and sunrise, and elevation of planets. With just one slide you can see how the sky will look later tonight or throughout the year.

Pro Stargazing:
Special night-time soft red mode will help you preserve night vision when stargazing with a telescope. You can see the sky in X-Ray (and 5 more filters) to study the invisible structure of the universe. Live tracking for over 8,000 satellites will help you catch iridium flares, and detailed articles will satisfy the most curious inquirer.

Game Changing New App Annecto from Annecto Inc. Makes Networking Easy

Move over LinkedIn! There’s a game changing new way for professionals across the world to easily and efficiently connect anytime and anywhere, and take their careers and businesses to the next level: say hello to the new no-cost app Annecto from Annecto Inc.

Created with patented technology and available for iPhone, iPad, Android-enabled smartphones and Windows Phone, Annecto – which means “connect” in Latin – lets users search and connect in real-time with nearby professionals who share their interests, whether they’re at an expo, conference, workshop, airport, flight, or anywhere else. And still, that’s only part of the remarkable story.

That’s because Annecto uses #hashtags, but with a brilliantly clever twist: instead merely tagging a comment or content (as is done on Twitter and Facebook), it uses them to locate and connect with people in real-time. For example, everyone attending an Apple Special Event or Worldwide Developers Conference can enter the corresponding #hashtag (e.g. #specialevent or #wwdc) into Annecto’s search field, and start networking with fellow developers before, during and after the conference. This process works for any industry, interest or location worldwide.

At the same time, Annecto offers significant advantages to commercial users, including transportation companies, recruiters, event organizers and property managers:

* Transportation companies can transform their fleet into a real-time networking platform to reach customers and understand passenger needs
* Recruiters can find and meet talented potential candidates at various business functions and locations, or while on-the-go
* Event organizers can enhance the value they’re offering attendees, by providing them with an innovative new way to network and connect, as well as viewing attendee demographics (company, title, industry etc)
* Service providers and retailers can connect with prospective customers while they’re on-site in order to attract traffic, generate leads and close sales

“Essentially, Annecto is to networking what Google is to search,” commented Mathieu Haddad of Annecto Inc. “It’s not just designed to make life easier and simpler, but to completely change how people network and connect anytime and anywhere. Quite simply, Annecto combines a geological platform with an advanced search engine to facilitate human interaction in a whole new – and profoundly improved – way!”

Annecto 1.9.2, the game changing new app that makes networking easy and efficient by connecting professionals in real-time, is Free and available worldwide through the App Store in the Social Networking category. There is also an Android version available on Google Play.

Learning Math Has Never Been So Dangerous

Independent game development studio, SpinFall, released Medieval Math Battle this month, an educational game where players master math facts and wield a sword in order to protect a medieval kingdom from villainous foes.

“We were inspired to create the game when our son came home from 3rd grade one day announcing he had to learn multiplication facts. Like many children, he loathes having to memorize anything, especially when it involves flash cards,” says SpinFall founder, Franklin Lyons. “With Medieval Math Battle, he can study and play at the same time. Which he loves.”

The educational game begins with the most basic levels of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, but increases in difficulty as children master the basic facts. With a hint of danger, gold to earn, suits of armor to wear, and bad guys to defeat, children all over the world will be excited about practicing math.

“The game is great for not only kids, but also for parents and teachers too,” says Lyons. “The report card feature clearly displays which facts the child has mastered, and which ones they still need to work on. Plus, the timer keeps track of how long they played, and will reward the child for practicing for at least fifteen minutes each day.”

Because basic computational skills are so vital when solving more difficult math problems, having a strong foundation in the basics gives students an advantage. And playing Medieval Math Battle makes acquiring that advantage a no-brainer for everyone involved.

Medieval Math Battle 1.01 is Free and available worldwide through the App Store in the Games category. It is also available for Google Play, Windows Phone 8, and the Amazon Appstore for Android. It is coming soon to various child focused Android tablets.

A powerful note taking solution, this utility gives users a single mobile hub that mixes together conventional digital text creation features such as text copy, paste, cut and spell checking options among many others with a unique self-improving handwriting recognition system which learns individual users writing patterns to be able to better assist them. Saving and sharing via Google Docs, Evernote, Dropbox, iCloud and email are available as well.

Thought is what makes users written content valuable at the end, but technology is what helps them get there as intuitively as possible with WritePad. The app boasts inline gesture, spell checking, context analyzing, and shorthand writing recognition features, all of which work regardless of whether users use their finger, a Bluetooth Pressure Stylus, or their devices’ digital keyboard to write. Meanwhile a wide array of text, pages, and ink/font color editing features offered as part of the app’s innovative ‘Styles’ toolbox ensure users can customize their notes exactly how they want to each and every time. Social media integration gives users the power to share notes via Twitter and Facebook with the click of a button as well.
